At NVIDIA GTC’s AI Storage Technology Summit in March 2025, Solidigm presented its advancements in integrating Cloud Storage Acceleration Layer (CSAL) with BlueField-3 DPU to enhance AI workloads. The presentation highlighted the success of using the industry-leading Solidigm QLC storage technology and DPU to achieve significant power and space savings while maintaining high performance. The integration of CSAL with BlueField-3 demonstrated optimal write performance, making it a viable solution for large-scale AI applications.
This integration allows DPU to inherit features supported by CSAL and operate agnostically on a variety of physical storage devices like SLC, QLC, data placement drives, etc.
Solidigm’s poster “Integrate advanced IO shaping, caching and data placement into NVIDIA Bluefield-3 DPU storage for AI storage BeeGFS” was accepted to be showcased at NVIDIA’s poster reception. It is now published on the GTC website.
Future plans in CSAL’s development include further feature and performance enhancements and scaling in NVMe-oF offloading, multi-core performance scaling improvements, and addition of read cache and RAID features, ensuring consistent, reliable and scalable performance for AI storage solutions.

At the AI Storage Technology Summit, Solidigm and UBIX, a storage leader in DPU native storage, had discussions on future architectural optimizations. Together, Solidigm and UBIX continue to focus on current progress of bringing features offered by CSAL to AI storage as well as on potential future synergies needed in AI storage solutions. This collaboration aims to drive further innovations and improvements in storage to provide customers with AI solutions with best-in-class performance, endurance and storage density.
UBIX recently launched UbiCube, DPU-Native Storage Solution. UbiCube provides customers with enhanced storage reliability. It is a high-density storage solution that uses Solidigm™ D5-P5336 high-density QLC SSDs. Solidigm QLC SSDs are industry leaders in high-capacity SSDs and offer capacities up to 122TB. In addition to using Solidigm QLC SSDs, integration of CSAL in this product maintains write amplification of ~1, thereby allowing applications to take full advantage of the performance and endurance offered by these QLC SSDs.
